Everyone involved has helped to create something truly special and unforgettable. But now we need you again - Together 2026 will only go ahead if 150 tickets or memberships are sold by 31 October.

Like Sarah.

Sarah’s story

“Before I joined the class at the shelter, I felt ashamed. Even going to the market to buy something was hard - I couldn’t tell if people were giving me the right money. Once I came home with the wrong change and was beaten. I felt small and useless.” Sarah, 16

Sarah came to our Nansamba Safe-Haven - a shelter we run for girls escaping violence. Here, she found protection and the chance to start again. Whilst at the shelter she joined our literacy classes. Step by step, letter by letter, she began to read and write.

With her new skills, she was able to join our tailoring class. Now she confidently takes measurements, follows instructions and keeps records of her earnings and savings.

“Now I don’t feel afraid. I can read signs, write my name and keep track of my own money. In tailoring, I take measurements with confidence. I know I have a future - I believe in myself.” Sarah
