COMING SOON - 2-9 DECEMBER - ALL DONATIONS DOUBLED

Keep her in school.

Help her lead!

£1 becomes £2 — twice the impact for girls in Kawempe.

Across Kawempe, exam season has arrived — and the energy is contagious.

In classrooms and dorms, girls huddle together, whispering formulas and words of encouragement.
When one starts to flag, Tracy — a Senior 4 student who dreams of becoming a doctor — explains:

“We remind each other why we started.”

Each term tests their endurance: finding fees, walking long distances, studying by candlelight, and pushing past pressure to give up — to work, to marry early, to escape unsafe situations.

And still, girls keep going.
They know that finishing school brings choices, safety and a future of their own making.

👉 From 2–9 December, your gift will be doubled — helping girls in Kawempe stay in school.

DONATE TO KEEP GIRLS LIKE SARAH IN SCHOOL

Someone out there believes in Awamu.

An anonymous donor has pledged to match every pound given during The Big Give.

We don’t know who they are.
All we know is that they believe in Awamu’s work and in the power of education to change girls’ lives.

Whoever you are - thank you.
And to everyone who joins them, thank you for standing alongside girls like Tracy.

Why it matters

Finishing secondary school changes everything.

Each extra year of education increases a girl’s future income and reduces her risk of early marriage or exploitation.
But more than that, it builds confidence — the courage to make decisions, to stand up for themselves and to help others do the same.

Together with our sister organisation Tusitukirewamu, a grassroots women-led community group in Kawempe, we create spaces where girls feel safe, supported and ready to lead.

When girls learn, communities grow stronger.

Already supported by 🌍 The L’Oréal Fund for Women, The Big Give Foundation, Coles-Medlock Foundation, Stichting Mannenzang, and hundreds of people who believe every girl deserves the chance to learn and lead.

Double your impact — what your gift can do

Every pound you give between 2–9 December will be doubled — twice the impact for girls in Kawempe.
