Over 2035 have been trained in skills to improve their earning potential. Helping them to take control over their own lives and give the children in their care a better start in life.

Before we crack ahead with the rest of 2017 we wanted to take a moment to celebrate what you helped us to achieve last year.

As its #internationalwomensday we thought we’d start by looking at the bold actions you’ve helped make possible for women and girls in Kampala.

Life changing skills

In 2014 we started a skills and enterprise training programme for the guardians of the children we work with.

Our objective was to train 80 women and girls in tailoring and mushroom growing alongside basic book keeping, business and marketing skills.

Last year over 2035 were trained in skills to improve their earning potential. Helping them to take control over their lives and give the children in their care a better start in life.

Staggering potential impact

This is staggering, especially when you consider that each of those women will have on average 4.5 children in their homes. The impact of this vital training could give over 9000 children a better chance to get the education that is vital to their future.

Thank you for helping making this possible.

Help more women gain vital skills

£10 a month could help a mum or guardian to gain skills that will improve their earning potential and a small start up loan to get her business off the ground so she can regain control over her life and look after her family. Set up a direct Debit now.
